Break out your air fryer and try this fun and healthier alternative to fried tortilla chips.
Prep Time: 5 minutes | Cook Time: 5-7 minutes per batch | Total Time: ~45 minutes
Ingredients:
10 5” corn tortillas (or use any size corn tortillas you have on hand)
Olive oil spray
1 wedge of lime
Salt to taste
Tools:
Air fryer
Cookie sheet or baking pan for spraying tortilla strips
Directions:
Cut tortillas into wedges; you can get 8 wedges using a 5” tortilla.
Lightly spray oil spray on both sides of the tortillas.
Set air fryer to 350° and air fry in batches, 8-10 chips at 6-8 minutes per batch, turning chips after 4 minutes.
Remove immediately from air fryer and add salt and a squeeze of lime to taste.
Storage:
Store in zipper storage bag in pantry for up to 10 days.
Notes:
You can also use this recipe to make tortilla strips (cook 3-4 minutes in air fryer).
Omit the lime juice and substitute wonton wrappers for wonton strips (cook 3-4 minutes in air fryer).
Enjoy homemade nachos? Assemble on plate with refried beans, cheddar cheese, taco meat of choice (chicken and beef are my favorites!) and broil in oven until cheese has melted.
Try with my favorite roasted tomato salsa or guacamole recipe (guac recipe coming soon)!
I used olive oil spray for this since it’s what I had in my pantry. Avocado spray would work well, too!
For this recipe, I used my Phillips XL air fryer. You may need to adjust the temperature, time, and batch size depending on what air fryer you use.
