This is a perfect recipe to use with the bounty of summer strawberries you'll find at the grocery store or your local farmer's market. Refreshing and delicious - enjoy!
Prep Time: 2 hours | Cook Time: 25 minutes | Total Time: 2 hours, 25 minutes
Ingredients:
1 lb. strawberries, rinsed and hulled
¼ c. granulated sugar
¼ c. water
¼ c. agave
Juice of 1 lime
Tools:
Ice cream maker
Directions:
In a saucepan, mix sugar and water together to make a simple syrup. Cool at room temperature for 25 - 30 minutes.
In a blender, blend strawberries until smooth.
Pour strawberry mixture into a strainer over a bowl.
Strain seeds out of strawberries and set seed mixture aside.
In strained strawberry mixture, add simple syrup, agave, and lime juice.
Let mixture sit in refrigerator for 1-2 hours.
Using an ice cream churn-machine, pour mixture in and let churn for 15-18 minutes.
Set in freezer for 30 minutes to set.
Enjoy!
Notes:
I like adding ½ of the strained seeds back into the strawberry mixture. You can also add fresh chunks of strawberries when you are churning the ice cream.
